Why won't my cat use the toilet?
We recently purchased the Litter Kwitter toilet training system, and our other three cats love it. We're on the first disc (red) and they have all used it daily without a hitch. My one cat, Sol, is having a hard time - we have yet to see her use it. We have introduced her to it repeatedly, but no cigars. We assume she is using to urinate, because we have only found one accident puddle, which was right next to the toilet, in over a week. (We think that happened because the pan was full/dirty.) But nightly we find a surprise #2 somewhere in the apartment. Any ideas or advice from people who have used the Litter Kwitter or toilet trained their cats?
*** Litter Kwitter is not a litter box. It is a kit that helps your cat learn to use the human toilet. Thanks to all who answered before, but I do not need help litter box training.
She may just be a stubborn cat. They all have their own personalities - one of mine is a social butterfly and accepts change readily. The other is the definition of scaredy cat. He hides from everyone, even those who have known him since birth. If you happen to see him, it was by accident and you can be sure you never see him again.
Regardless, you can't force the issue. If she's going to use it, then she will on her own terms. It may just take her much much longer. Make sure you keep that pan clean, as in scooped out, but not overly sanitized. There is a product that is a litter box attractant - can't remember the name though. Also, make sure she isn't being interupted. We don't like it and neither do cats.
