Is windows 7 a Vista? Please answer?
I bought a laptop today and the guy I bought it off said to read the details carefully, and if theres anything wrong or something I don't want, not to open the seal off or else I won't be able to return it. I really want a windows vista instead of windows XP, but on the side of the cover, it says, Windows 7. What does this mean? Is this windows or xp? Please, please reply someone!

Windows 7 is the newest version of Windows.
It builds on Vista but corrects some number of the problems along with adding additional functionality
Vista was the next version after XP but was considered a failure and very problematic plus it was such a drastic change in the User Interface that people had problems finding anything.
XP was the version before Vista but was considered the most stable version.
So Windows 7 is not Vista and it is not XP. It is the next version AFTER Vista.
