Well, it will be excellent for school............as for the games

First off, your processor isn't fast enough. Secondly, you might want to get a 7200 rpm hard drive instead of the 5400 rpm one.
But here's the major thing. Your graphics card. It is an 8600m gt edition. You will not to play age of conan or crysis well at all, maybe barely at low settings.

It's not your fault. You need at least an 8800 gt graphics card to play crysis, and the only laptops that have them (from alien ware and some other company I forgot) are bulky and over 3000 dollars.

Gaming on a laptop will never be on the same level as a desktop.

If you are still interested in gaming your laptop, look into some older games. Just because its old doesnt mean its not fun =p.
I recommend need for speed Porsche Unleashed, or a good Command and Conquer game.

Crysis and Age of Conan are new games that require high end components. You might be able to play them at low settings, but it might not be enjoyable.

You really need a desktop, and to play those games it will cost around 1700 dollars to buy one.
