Good Student Bad Grades?

im a 15 yr old girl and i am generally an A student. i have never gotten below a B on my report card. Last trimester i was sick for almost 3 weeks and i had Geometry, Adv. English, Adv. Global Studies, Adv. Physics and Spanish 2. im in all advanced classes. it was impossible to catch up because i only had 2 weeks left of the Trimester. i got 2 incompletes and 3 Cs. My parents thought i was caught up until they emailed one of my teachers and now they are mad. It was all their idea for me to take all advanced class while i wanted more art and writing. my mom is also one of those parents who was a perfect child. she got straight As and was homecoming queen and all that. im more quiet and dont go to a lot of school activities. she is always so disappointed in me. my dad is alsp sort of a genius. he is amazing with math. im not. is it right for them to expect me to always have As? i told them it wouldnt happen again.

It is hard to try to catch up after your sick. I was only sick one day and I missed a whole bunch of stuff.

Parents are always like that, they want you to have perfect A's. My parents are like that when I was in junior high but now that I'm in high school and I'm taking very hard 2 AP classes, their expectations dropped a little bit. Because they see me doing my homework all the time. My dad always says when are you going to stop doing your history. And yes, I devote much time to do my history and english and my chemistry. AP and honors classes. But I told them that these classes are very hard to get an A. I have a B+ right now and hey, I'm happy with that. And whenever I show my report card to my parents, they just say good because they know I'm taking hard classes and its hard to get a perfect grade.

Do your parent's know about how much you have in your advanced classes? Do they know its not easy keeping up in the classes if your sick and miss it? Well you should be getting your missing work if your sick and have to stay home. It's better to have homework to do when your sick than not have anything at all when your sick because then you have to make it all up when you come back to school in a shorter amount of time.

You should tell your parents that you have been working your butt off for all the classes they suggested you should be in. And because since they are not in school but you are, it's different. Classes are more harder than back then and it shouldn't bother them if you get a B next time. You should be proud of that, taking hard classes, managing your time. It takes effort, time, and willingness to do all that and no one is perfect with that. Some of the smartest kids are only smart because they take so much time to do their studies. And you should let your parents know that.

Good Luck!
